Becky White, sister of our client Bob

My brother started receiving services from ES as an untreated adult in his fifties. Before receiving services from ES, he would become very agitated and refuse to vary from his routine or even make simple changes in his daily schedule. He has made significant progress in communicating with others, interacting with new people apropriately, and in reducing some unwanted behaviors.

ES uses an integrated approach where my brother has been able to learn and practice new skills while having fun! With help from the ES staff, my brother has become more flexible and gained new skills of coping with changes and interacting with others. He had to move out of the family home after our father's death and with ES assistance he made a smooth transition to an assisted living facility. He is treated like a family member by ES team members who allow him to feel safe and secure in his learning and in making mistakes.

He is respected as an individual with strengths and abilities. He now helps others as a "teacher" at ES, acquainting them with basic sign language. Every success is celebrated and used as a "stepping stone" to build further growth.

We celebrate his success and his new found independance!
